i think you set your 'minimum requirements' pretty high. i get great results using a zoom h2 to record full band performances and then plugging in to a macbook for overdubs and mixing. that's all the equipment needed besides instruments and players. and i've done multi-track stuff on my own with just the macbook and garage band, plugging my guitars/basses straight into the input on the computer [with a 1/4-1/8" adapter on the instrument cable]. the zoom h2 could be fine as a stand-alone, 200USD

great advice throughout this vid ive found all these things worked for me working them out the hardway! i found you can get the best results on a budget from using budget guitars/bass with used old midi keys with free or cheap vsts and reaper (a sequencer like cubase), another thing is antares mic modler..turns cheap mics into better ones and also mastering software like spectralive gives a really professional edge

There's a video here on youtube of Joe Satriani playing one of his signature tunes on some entry level gear, just guitar, whammy pedal and amp. Still sounded just like the usual Satch, which shows two things. One, it really is down to your fingers and knowing what you're doing when playing and two, if that's the case then he just shot himself in the foot by accident with that video by showing you don't need his pricey equipment to sound like him. Same goes for most other artists I guess.

Dude the fact that he even uses pedals is amazing to me. His amps cost between $4,000 and $20,000. A Dumble, Two Rock, etc.. Also a boatload of $5,000 and up guitars doesn't hurt. But kids I knew with thousands of dollars of gear couldn't play for shit. They were more worried about gear than developing chops. Gear helps...but nothing is a substitute for practice.

come on man. Probably You got slow metabolism and U need to boost it up. So first - proper diet - and U have to eat (but properly ;]). So breakfast should contain a lot of proteins and long chain carbohydrates. Try eggs, milk + dark bread with honey/turkey ham ;). Drink a lot of water, stop drinking sodas and no fast food at all (junk food). Before exercise u need to warm up your body and rise your blood pressure and heart rate - good for that is skipping rope. Try to make exercising fun 4 U ;)

Sounds like you got most everything covered. All is left is powder, primer and bullets! The case trimmer can come later. The case can stretch after several rounds, depending on how heavy the load is; just keep checking with your case gauge and you'll know when its time to trim them. Good luck and enjoy reloading.

I will start reloading in the next month and I am ordering my equipment now. I'll be reloading .45ACP, .45-70 Gov't, .308 Winchester. Im ordering the RCBS Master Kit, Shellholders and dies for the calibers, Electronic Caliper, Tumbler & Seperator and case lengths gauges. Is there anything else i will need? Thanks for your comments. The Single Stage will prime, however it is a *lot* faster to use the auto load attachment or a hand primer. Both are not very expensive and will last years. The advantage is you don't have to pick up primers individually and load them in the press. John

Gunpowder won't begin to burn till it's at around 400 degrees. If, in the summer, your garage reaches that temperature, you probably have more to worry about than some gunpowder. Seriously, though, just keep it someplace moderate in temperature, were the heat doesn't fluctuate wildly, and you'll be fine.

That's a valid concern. Gunpowder will not "blow-up." While it is extremely flammable, it is not explosive. Therefore, a garage will not likely ever reach the flash point of gunpowder. Many people store gunpowder in a Styrofoam cooler to help moderate the temperature. The important thing is to NEVER store bulk powder in something that will hold pressure, like a gun safe. If it were ever to catch fire inside something that cannot release pressure quickly then it will likely be a bomb!

I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that the best sound came from a tube pre amp and a solid state main amp. Great review. Have you had a chance to listen to other Italian designs such as Aliante? Have you ever listened to other Solid State designs with Sonus? I've had great success with Dynaudio + Krell 400xi but recently heard a Bluenote, Ayon CD-1 and Aliante Zeta One's and quite honestly the synergy made it the best sounding system I've ever heard in a home.

Neal the match is more between the cartridge and the phono stage on the C220, than the turntable. You need a Moving Magnet or a high-output moving coil. Anyway, Nottingham turntables are very well made and attractive - and get excellent reviews. I would not mind one myself. It will work great with McIntosh, or any other great gear.

We tried to work a deal out with Versus but many of the people whom I was working with were fired there and new management was hired. They tend to make us think Bass fishing is more important to them than our style of fishing. We would love to be on Versus if they would have us. However, the last I checked a 13 week season with 13 weeks of reairs would cost nearly $250,000. That amount of money is just not in a fishing shows budget. Thanks for asking. Regards, Capt Ben

They do, if you look there is always a big, white van trailing the cab. They usually try to stay out of camera view but you can see them a lot. That is also how they get the shots of the cab from a distance.

And also, I might add..he was gonna have 2 separate switches (one for the lights, one for the music), but that made it difficult, so he's got one switch for both. To start the light show and play the music, he plugs his iPod into the stereo, turns on the stereo, and flips the switch..thus triggering the lights and music.

The cash might not be real; but the cab certainly is. Anyway, the license # was 1G12 in the first 2 seasons and in the After Dark shows, it currently is 7N78. Either way, it's a Toyota Sienna.

Well, it's not a real cab...so why would they have much real cash in there? The cash he waves at the contestants is fake. When people get in, they can either play, or get out. And a lot of recording equipment is in the chase van. So a mugger would probably get less money from the Cash Cab than a real one, not to mention there isn't much to steal, aside from the iPod and the decks in the back apparently.
